If Tetris got your mom and dad to be gamers, then Angry Birds got grandma, grandpa and your kid sister too. Adopting Pac-Man’s strategy of simple gameplay, friendly colors and adorably cartoonish violence, Rovio Entertainment shot to the top of the burgeoning smartphone and tablet gaming market at the same time that FarmVille hooked casual gamers on Facebook. Games like “Candy Crush Saga,” “Temple Run” and “Subway Surfer” all owe some of their success to the path paved by “Angry Birds.”
