Estimated economic boost to Dublin over the St. Patrick’s holiday weekend. The Irish have been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day for more than a millennium, primarily as a religious holiday. Monday is likely to be Dublin Airport's busiest day, with over 82,000 people passing through as visitors return home after the weekend. Holiday bookings are up about 25 percent this year from last, according to Expedia.
