It was inevitable. Starting tonight, the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers will play for the NBA championship — the first time in league history that the same two teams have met in the finals for three straight years.
This rematch promises plenty of drama, but one thing is clear: Regardless of who wins, there are no losers financially. Not surprisingly LeBron James, the best player in the NBA, is also the league’s highest paid player. For being the second-best player in the NBA, Steph Curry seems to be underpaid. (Don’t feel too bad: he’s a free agent and will likely get a nice pay bump after the finals are over.)
