Indonesia's Java island hit by 6.1 magnitude quake

JAKARTA (Reuters) - An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck off Sukabumi district in West Java in the western part of Indonesia on Monday, 24 km below the surface of the sea, the state meteorology agency said.

Tremors were felt in capital Jakarta, shaking buildings briefly, witnesses said.
