Why You Should Watch – The show has always had a clever way around television taboos. Obviously for Boy Scouts in the Hood, Bart couldn’t get drunk … so the “squishy bender” came about; similarly, the characters may not have been able to drop acid, but Homer could certainly start hallucinating after eating too many insanity peppers in the town chili cook-off. What’s most amazing is that at the end, it’s a very, very sweet episode that reaffirms the love between Marge and Homer. This from an episode that features Johnny Cash as a talking coyote and a cargo ship full of hot pants.
