The founders of Emmy's Organics, a gluten-free, vegan, raw food company, took out a small business loan, but it wasn’t enough. Instead of taking out another, they turned to the crowd. Their campaign raised more than $15,000 and the company’s products are now sold in supermarkets in almost every state.
