Pan Am Airlines commissioned this painting from Rockwell in 1956, as part of an advertising campaign featuring tourists enjoying cities throughout the world. The painting, The Thing to Do With Life Is Live It! (Outrigger Canoe) will be sold in a Christie’s auction December 5.
