Funding the race to the Olympics is not all smooth sailing for competitive seamen. Five-time Olympian Richard Clarke from Canada has two Star boats, each costing him $90,000, not including the $4,000 in sails. Even after raising $32,000 through a “Get on the Boat” campaign, he and his crewmate are still $30,000 short of their goal for the 2012 Olympics.
