Like to make people laugh? Circus clowns earn an average $38,000 a year for acting silly. The job requires some athletic ability and a lot of stamina but there’s no formal education requirement. Some clowns go to clown school, typically an eight-week program that teaches things like make-up, costuming and safe techniques for falling down. And if you can’t get a full-time job in the circus, there are always kids’ birthday parties.
